Jacob Baur

Note: According to the MN Synod book he served from 1894-1904.

"His call required him to teach seven months of school. For his exceptional interest in the instruction of the children of his day, Pastor Baur deserves special mention. During his pastorate the congregation suffered the loss of its church and school. The next year 1895 a new and larger church was built which served the congregation until 1952. A pipe organ was purchased in early 1900, and during the summer of that year a new school building was erected and an addition was made to the parsonage."

Paul Hinderer

  • Paul Hinderer was also serving South Ridge, Nodine, and Brownsville. He soon realized that it was impossible to serve Brownsville in those horse-and=buggy days, if Nodine was to receive proper attention. He therefore resigned from Brownsville, which could be served from Town Union, and continued with the two Ridge congregations until 1890 when he left the Goodhue area.<ref>Clara Hinderer Baur written history</ref>

  • served 1901-1902 (a little more than a year)

"Next came Rev. Jacob Baur to served this territory from 1887-1892. Although repeated attempts were made to erect a church at Beaver Falls, MN, plans were finally made to erect Zion Church in Morton, MN. On Feb 18, 1889, the congregation organized in Morton, and plans for a church building, 26'x40', were completed. This church was razed in 1939 to give place to our current house of worship."
