Notes
This is Zion Lutheran Church in Hutchinson, MN. The picture is of the building where Jacob Baur served. There are several things which make it of special interest.
The congregation was started by the pastor of Peace Lutheran Church, Hutchinson, MN in 1895, which is the church which the Edward Scheele family attended. Peace is also where Alfred Baur served as a vacancy pastor in 1920.(He served St. John's Lutheran Church, Cedar Mills, MN from 1917-1927).
Jacob served Zion from 1914-1919. This would have put him there when the MN Synod dissolved and joined the WELS in 1918. I imagine father and son had some interesting conversations!
It also introduces another possible reason why Clara Hinderer knew Lydia Jaus!
