I don't know much about the background of Uncle Louie. I vaguely remember going to visit Aunt Ella at the hospital in Truman(?) with Aunt Yetta and Uncle Art when she had a baby. Unless I'm very mistaken, this was a daughter who later died. I was only six at the time, so could be completely wrong about the entire thing. This must have been before they moved to Minneapolis when he and Aunt Polly bought a bakery business. They later moved to Belle Plaine, MN where he operated a service station.

Uncle Louis had both legs amputated in his later years due to diabetic complications. I believe his death was also due to his diabetes. Aunt Ella died of Cancer in 1986.
