Roman Jaus Funeral Memorial Card

Roman is survived by his daughters, Paula (Rohn Halvorson of Elysian, MN, Karla (Dale) Tate of Dodge Center, MN, Linda (Michael) Rider of Gibbon, MN, Kathleen (Timothy) Schultz of Janesville, MN, Mariam (Kevin) Hiller of Hawley, MN; sons Martin (Loretta) Jaus of Gibbon, MN, Gerald Jaus of New Ulm, MN; 27 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren, sisters, Marvel (Elton) Vorwerk of Fairfax, MN, Lyla (Ralph) Baur of New Ulm, MN; and by sisters-in-law, Elaine (Floyd) Kent of Gibbon, Carol Langevin of Mankato.

He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Olivia Jaus; his wife, Lois Jaus; son-in-law, David Langer; sister, Myrtle Meyer; and by a grandson, Nicholas Delestre.

Roman Robert Immanuel Jaus was born September 18th, 1926, in New Ulm to Martin and Hanna (Lieske) Jaus. He attended school in Gibbon and was a 1994 graduate of Gibbon High School. Roman was united in marriage to Lois Bode on April 9, 1954, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Moltke Township Sibley County. He was a dairy farmer on the family farm until his retirement. Roman moved to Winthrop in 2005 and then lived in Fairfax for the past year. He enjoyed playing cards, attending concerts and spending time with family and friends.

He was a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where he participated in the Men’s Choir and the Men’s Club.
