Clara Baur Globe letter translation. John Stefaniuk Here is a rough translation. "Pastor Harder probably already told you about our meeting surely, so a written letter will be welcomed by you. Our committee sees your reasons for resigning as valid and accepts it. Your resignation will take effect in May 1. The committee also recognizes the sincere and conscientious work you've done and deeply regrets that you have to take this step of resigning. We wish God's blessings on you, on behalf of the whole committee, Signed-G.E. Bergermann,Secretary

Joan Eskew Meet Joan. :-) Rosemarie and Joan suggested the fellow holding three babies in a previous picture might be John's Dad. I of course needed to do some research. I discovered Great-grandpa Hinderer preached at this church. http://empire-press.com/2015/09/church-centennial-draws-large-crowd/

Your question on WikiTree G2G has been answered by Mauritz-15:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ausgangsschrift has specimen for various scripts, with helper lines as used in first grade of school to learn the scripts.

In particular:

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:S%C3%BCtterlin-Ausgangsschrift.jpg "Kurrent", popularily known as "German script".

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:S%C3%BCtterlin_,_lateinisches_Alphabet.jpg an older variant of the "Latin script".

https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Deutsche_normalschrift_ab_01091941.jpg the more common variant of the "Latin script".

There's also an old print type family ("Fraktur") and the newer latin based Antiqua based, which can be compared here: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Datei:Lesehilfe_Fraktur.svg

Fraktur is often associated with Nazi Germany, even though the Nazis made the switch to the more international Antiqua type. The official reason was that Fraktur (or rather Schwabacher, a related type) is a "Jewish type" (factually incorrect, but it fit the politics of the time). The practical reason was probably that the people in the conquered territories both east and west weren't able to read Fraktur, and that complicated keeping control and forced labor production.
