Clara Hinderer Baur was living in New Ulm, MN when her mother, Klara Schneider Hinderer died at the age of 77 while living in Seattle, WA. Her retired husband Paul was age 74.

Fred being the youngest of the children lived in Seattle, and also an attorney was more able to help care for his elderly parents. I am sure the milder weather was also of benefit. Emmanuel lived/farmed in Waterville, WA; you must know about your grandmother Clara; Julia and Paul both lived in the Waterville area as well; Elsa was living in the Oroville, WA area (this is the general area I was raised in); Ted had just moved his family(about two months before his mother’s death) to a farm outside of Pullman, WA.; Chris also farmed in the Waterville, WA area; Eugene was living and working in the Minnesota/Wisconsin area in the ministry; Amanda also lived in the Seattle, WA area as did of course Fred.

Trivia:Clara was 48 and living in New Ulm, MN at the time. Ralph was 15, and Lyla Jaus Baur was age 7. It is of interest that Lydia Baur was the same age as Marie. Jacob Baur was 72 and and was Pastor at St. John's Lutheran Church, Ft. Ridgley, MN. His wife Emilie Sommerfeld Baur was 66. Martin Jaus Sr. would die 2 years after Klara died.

The other sister Emily was a witness to Klara and Paul's wedding , Friedrich Aichele was the other witness. I think both of them got married at the same time as Klara and Paul <ref>Rosemary Hinderer</ref>
