Martin A. Jaus
Martin A. Jaus, 88, of 302 Monument, died of an apparent heart attack Saturday afternoon at his home.
Visitation continues today at the church from 12:30 p.m. until time of services. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Minnesota Valley Funeral Home.
Services will be 2 p.m. today at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, New Ulm, with burial in the Lutheran Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife Olivia; son Roman of rural Gibbon; Mrs. Elton (Marvel) Vorwerk of rural Gibbon; Mrs. Harvey (Myrtle) Meyer of New Ulm; Mrs. Ralph (Lyla) Baur of Edmonds, Washington; 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
He was born March 6th, 1892, in Moltke Township, Sibley County, to Martin and Louisa Jaus. He married Hannah Lieske on October 7, 1919, in Henderson and they farmed in Moltke Township. She died April 10, 1935. He married Olivia Schilling on December 21, 1941, in Moltke Township. He was a member of the Concord Singers.
