W.A Andrews, Superintendent

Lake City, Minnesota

May 5, 1939

Mrs. Clara Baur, Secretary

High School

New Ulm, Minnesota

Dear Clara:

I have studied your paper carefully and can say in all earnestness that you have treated the subject from an excellent point of view both theoretically and practically. After the last sentence, I believe I say “Amen”. I also took the liberty of letting my successor read it. His consensus is the same as mine. You have placed the stress where it belongs and have suggested certain procedures which are fundamental. I especially appreciate you treatment on conserving the Superintendent's time, a matter which I have never been successful in organizing, largely because I have played the part of the good fellow and have generally used the open door policy, often to my detriment and embarrassment.

This becomes more and more evident as the schools I had increase in size. As soon as I am on the job, we shall go over the entire question together and arrive at some definite procedure. If you have not already so arranged, we shall plan to have your report published in either the School Board Journal of the M.E.A. Journal.

You didn’t answer my question concerning Ralph’s bill for mowing the grass.

We plan to be in New Ulm between June 15th and 20th.

Sincerely,

W.A. Andrews, Superintendent

Superintendent Elect at New Ulm
