Lyla Jaus in flower girl dress

Lyla wore the dress for the wedding of her cousin Putz and Viola Wandersee on August 1st, 1936.

Lyla Baur Memories: Tanta Lydia and I took the train to MI. I was the flower girl. Viola's Dad was teaching in Detroit, MI with 96 kids in his school...he was the only teacher at the school.

Lyla has a large colored and framed copy of this picture hanging on her wall. It is one of those hand colored photos. Mom believes Tanta Lydia gave it to her. She still has the yellow dress. She believes her aunt, Lydia Scheele, mother of the groom, had it framed for her.

note: The picture frame is real heavy cardboard. Heaver than other frames I have seen. The color photo on Lyla's wall was actually black and white, and then colored by hand. They sometimes used paint and sometimes a colored powder.
