  • Lived with his brothers in Watervilled, WA.
  • Caught the flu of 1918. It threatened his life for several weeks and left his lungs in a weakened condition. This caused complications over the years and may have contributed to his not recovering from his fatal card accident.

The middle name was chosen because of his (Al Baur) sponsor.....Uncle Fred Hinderer...... AND Aunt Ross were his sponsors.

As you may know...Uncle Fred was a Harvard graduate and an atty. in SEA. It was he who taught us about clamming. He was also an avid hunter......He was killed in an auto accident on way back from one of those trips. Funeral service was held at Grace in SEA because of size of church......it was larger.

Wally Hinderer is the son and lives in Port Angeles.(I think).<ref>Memory of Lyla Baur</ref>
