"His call required him to teach seven months of school. For his exceptional interest in the instruction of the children of his day, Pastor Baur deserves special mention. During his pastorate the congregation suffered the loss of its church and school. The next year (1895) a new and larger church was built which served the congregation until 1952. A pipe organ was purchased in early 1900, and during the summer of that year a new school building was erected and an addition was made to the parsonage."
