I think this is one of the coolest photos I have come across. It is a double exposure of Salem Lutheran Church, Edmonds, WA and parsonage. Dad accepted the call to Salem in 1956.
It contains so many elements of growing up. Alan Baur, Claire Baur, and James Baur were all baptised in this building. I remember going up the steps to church (not very handicap friendly) and all the memories which go with it. You can see the sidewalk leading up to the school entrance which was located in the church's daylight basement.
The farthest window to the left on the house is the master bedroom. You can't believe how tiny the closet was in that house. Martin Baur taught me how to ride a bike when he had me sit on the bike and he pushed it down the sloping front lawn. The big ditch prevented me from going into the street. You can just see Dad's office window on the right side of the picture window.
In a later year, 1980, the big front picture window vibrated when Mount Saint Helens erupted 100 miles to the south. Ash covered the yard and driveway.
