Pastor Hinderer Dies Suddenly of Heart Attack at His Home

Hartland, WI -- Pastor Eugene Hinderer, Zion Church, Hartland, WI, Hartland, Wisconsin Synod, passed away suddenly at his home Monday at 10:30 p.m. of a heart attack.

He was born September 1, 1899, at Goodhue, MN. He attended high school at New Ulm, MN, Concordia College, St. Paul, MN, and the Lutheran Seminary at Thiensville, WI. He entered the ministry September 1, 1923.

He was united in marriage June 17, 1925 to Melva Woodwick, at Tappin, ND. He served St. John's Lutheran Church, Tappin, SD for 15 years, Zion Lutheran Church, Bristol, WI, for nine years, and Zion Lutheran Church, Hartland, WI seven years and ten months.

He was a member of the [[WELS|Wisconsin Synod Mission Board, and was interested and active in establishing new churches, missions and schools.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Melva, a son Daryle, employed at Milwauke Road at Northbrook, WI, a daughter Kathryn, a teacher at the Grace Lutheran Church school, Yakima, WA, five brothers, Emmanuel, Paul, and Chris, Waterville, WA, and Theodore, Pullman, WA, four sisters, Mrs. Marie Harris and Julia Lemon, Seattle, WA; Mrs. Elsa Eberly, Oroville, WA; and Clara Bauer, Broken Bow, NE; and a ost of neighbors and friends.

Funeral services will be hld Friday at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Hartland, WI with Pastors A. Halboth, E. Huebner, and J. Mahnke officiating. The body will lie in state after 4 p.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in the Hartland cemetery.

Hartland Business Places Closed Friday 2 to 3 p.m.

Business places in Hartland will be closed Friday afternoon from 2 to 3 o'clock during funeral services for Rev. Eugene Hinderer of Zion Lutheran Church.
