Mrs. Clara Baur: Secretary to the Superintendent New Ulm Public Schools New Ulm, Minnesota

Dear Mrs. Baur: I am sorry now that we died not have more of an opportunity to visit when I was in New Ulm. There are many things I wished to ask about, but was somewhat hesitant because of the ethics involved.

May I be quite frank in saying, however, that I first became enthusiastic over the New Ulm superintendency after meeting you Monday afternoon. One could see at a glance, that with a person of your experience and ability, a new man could get ready to open the school year on short notice without getting any strings crossed. Only the man in the office, and the secretary outside, quite realize how much of an assistant superintendent of schools the latter must be.

Whether or not I receive any serious consideration for the vacancy in your city, you may rest assured that I am not only deeply grateful to you for the courtesy and friendly interest shown, but am going to be very envious of the man fortunate enough to have to to keep his office in order.
