Liebe Eltern! Habe das Gelderhalten. Besten Dank. Examen sind so viel ich weiß vorüber. Lehrer Holzingers(?) Leiche wargestern um 2 Uhr hier in der Kirche. Unser Männerchor sang zwei Lieder. Am 8. ist alte(?) Adelheids Hochzeit. Ich habe auch eine Einladung bekommen. Geht ihr alle zur [...] herauf?

Dear Parents! I have received the money. Best thanks. Exams are over, as far as I know. Teacher Holzinger's body was here in the church, yesterday at 2 o'clock. Our men's choir sang two songs. On the 8th is the wedding of old(?) Adelheid. I have received an invitation, too. Will you all go up to [...]?

That took some digging (since I wasn't so sure about "Leiche", body), but https://www.newspapers.com/newspage/80080754/ refers to a Carl Holzinger, teacher in New Ulm who died on May 31th (so I guess the date on the post card means June 4th, 1911, not April 6th. Alfred wasn't quite consistent in his dates).

The dates on his postcards had three different formats so far:

• June 4, 1910 (US)

• 4. June 1910 (German)

• 6-4-1910 (well.. could be both, but is US in this case)
