- R Heidmann was pastor of the church in Arlington, MN and on the college's board of directors and visited the campus Sept. 25th.
Text
DMLC built the Men's dormitory (Summit Hall) and Chapel (Music Hall) in 1910. (Up to this time, the Recitation Hall (Old Main) had served as the dormitory, cafeteria, classrooms, etc.). Requests for money pledges were made to surrounding congregations. One of the congregations contacted was where Jacob Baur served as pastor. I never thought of Jacob Baur being involved in the development of DMLC after graduating from it. He was sent a postcard stating "Dear Brother, I am asking to think of the students' till. We urgently need money."
Robert Heidmann was on DMLC's Board of Directors and pastor at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Arlington, MN. This explains why the post mark is Arlington.
