Norbert Elmer, son of Lydia Scheele and the late Edward Scheele, died 27 July 1925 of inflammation of the brain at the age of 7 years, 8 months, 29 days. Buried 28 Jul 1925. Survived by mother and brother Roland.

I just discovered that my Grandfather, Pastor Alfred Baur, served as your vacancy pastor from 1920-1921. I'm hoping you can give me a little help...

Alfred's wife (my Grandma) became close friends with a woman named Lydia (Jaus) Scheele, who 10 years later became my Mom's aunt. I have been trying to discover what church Lydia attended. I know they moved to Hutchinson about 1914 where her husband, Edward, purchased a drugstore.

I only have two clues to work with concerning church membership. Edward died Jan. 6th, 1919. However, he is not buried in your cemetery. He is buried at St. Peter's in Moltke Township, Lydia's home congregation.

The other clue is the birth of their son Norbert who was born October 29th, 1917. If your church's baptismal records contain Norbert's name I know I have found the right church!
