50th Wedding Anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Theo Baur celebrated thier golden wedding anniversary Sunday, September 24, with an open house at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Attendants were sisters of Mr. Baur, Helen and Cordelia Baur of Springfield. Another attendant, Carl Weber of California, was unable to attend. Another attendant, Harold Weber, is deceased.
About 250 guests attended and a short program was given. Richard Straumann of Arden Hills, a nephew, was master of ceremonies. He gave a reading of the past years. 2 songs were sung by the Curt Danielsons and a prayer was given by Rev. Paul Pilgrim.
Out of town guests were from Windon; Bingham Lake; St. Paul; Chaska; Silverton, OR; Atwater; Minneapolis; Omaha, NE; Council Bluffs, IA; Watertown, SD; Janesville; Lamberton; Sleepy Eye; Cosmos; Waseca; Olivia; Lake Crystal; Morgan; Faribault; Petaluma, CA; Nicollet; and Westbrook.
A dinner was given at the church basement for Mr. and Mrs. Theo Baur and family by their children; son, Robert Baur, Chaska, daughters, Arlene (Mrs. Clarence) McGuire, St. Paul, and Gertrude (Mrs. Otto) Rosenau, Springfield. They have 10 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and all were present.

Mr. and Mrs. Jarold Weber of Silverton, OR, arrived at the Theo Straumann home Tuesday evening Sept. 19 to visit Sanborn and Springfield area relatives. They also visited relatives at Minnesota Lake and attended the Golden Wedding Anniversary open house of Mr. & Mrs. Theo Baur at Springfield on Sun. Sept. 24. The Baur's are an aunt and uncle of Jarold Weber1. . Mr. & Mrs. Eugene Kaehler of Petaluma, CA arrived at the Theo Straumann home Fri., Sept. 22 to visit relatives in Sanborn and Springfield areas and also to attend the Golden Wedding Anniversary open house of Mr. & Mrs. Theo Baur at Springfield, Sunday, Sept. 24. The Baurs are an aunt and uncle of Eugene Kaehler2.
