The battleship USS Missouri stopped at Seattle, WA when on tour. This is the battleship where the formal surrender of Japan was signed. We went on a tour of the ship. There is a large emplem on the deck of the ship where the signing took place. A lot of famous people have walked the deck of that ship.

This may seem like a strange thing to include in family history, but like many things it crosses family lines and generations. Many of us have relatives who served in WWII. Many of us have relatives who served in the Korean War such as my father-in-law, Duane Amos.

Were Uncle Harvey Meyer and Duane Amos aware of the impact of this mighty ship had during their tours of duty? Probably so. On a side note, both men served in the Navy. It will be interesting to see the impact this ship had other family members.
