Hi Steve. I see that you live in the town of Buffalo Lake and am hopeful you can help me. It concerns Buffalo Lake and Cedar Mills.
I am working on family history. I have Grandpa's draft notice and it lists him as living in Buffalo Lake. He was employed by St. John's church in Cedar Mills and lived there.
A 1918 and 1921 envelopes are addressed to Grandpa in Buffalo Lake. A 1925 newspaper article makes reference to him as being from Buffalo Lake. My dad was born in 1922 in Cedar Mills. Grandpa's 1927 obituary list him as having lived in Cedar Mills. It is 15 miles as the crow flies from Cedar Mills to Buffalo Lake.
Do you have any idea why Grandpa's address would be Buffalo Lake or have any kind of best guess. I have asked people living in Cedar Mills and they don't have any idea. Thanks!
