Brief History

In January, 1898, Pastor H. C. Jaus came from Tipton County, IN. He began teaching school and preaching for services in the school building. In 1898, Bethlehem Evangelical Lutheran Church was organized. The members joined the Missouri Synod, and received a peaceful release from the mother church, Emmanuel Lutheran.

In 1902, a church building campaign was begun. The new church constructed of brick was to seat 250 people. The same church is still being used, but a balcony has been added to give more seating space.
