Thanks to everybody for their comments on Bill Sabo. Here are some facts I discovered about him.

His mother and father were born in Hungary. His mother's maiden name was Milkay. Bill was born in IL August 2, 1907.

According to a 1930 census he was 23 and living with Henry Gruenhagen in Grafton, MN as a lodger and hired man.

He married Dora Quandt Sept 13, 1934.

According to a 1940 census, Bill was 34, living in Grafton Township, and married to Dora. His children at the time were:Jerome Sabo age 5, Dianna Sabo age 0 His Father-in-law William Quandt, age 70, was living with him at the time as was August Quandt age 42. Melvin Meyer, age 20 is listed as a hired hand.

He died Sept 30, 1988 and is buried St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Moltke Township, MN.

Carol Langevin: Yes, I knew Bill and Dora Sabo. I went to Lutheran Island Camp with their daughter, Diane. They also had two sons, Jerome and Merlin.

Roxann Sabo: My grandpa's name was William Sabo.. never heard of him referred to as Bill, though. Nickie Sabo: Ha, you’re so right... it didn’t even register for me!

Patty Hauer: Jim Baur Yes, I believe he worked at gas station on hwy 19, don't think he was an orphan. Edgar Taggatz sure would know!

Nickie Sabo: Not an orphan. Merlin, his brother and sister grew up north of Gibbon with their parents.

Wade Haas: He owned and operated Merlins highway service for years. It is now UFC c store.
