They farmed one mile east of the Lieske homestead. Uncle George always said that he go the left-overs because his farm consisted of the poorest land with the most sloughs. He was a severe stutterer all his life. Many treatments were tried, all to no avail. They managed the Henderson Mercantile Store in Henderson after they retired from farming. Uncle George died of Liver Cancer in 1971 at age 71. As of this writing, 1997, Aunt Mae is 95 and residing in a Nursing Home in Mankato, MN.
